Week 14: Causes of Climate Change

  What did you do in lab today? Today, we watched a video about climate change. Scientists use ice cores to measure the greenhouse gas concentration throughout history. The CO2 ppm started rising faster during the Industrial Revolution.  ​ What was the big question? Causes of Climate Change ​ What did you learn in Thursday’s discussion? I learned that the leading factor of sea level rise is due to the warming of the oceans. I knew that when something is heated, it expands, but I never put two and two together that the warming of the sea levels would rise the sea levels tremendously.  ​ Textbook:  ​ What did you learn? I've always been curious about how global warming has fueled larger wildfires. I learned that years of drought are causing wood to die, which makes it more flammable. ​ What was most helpful?
