Week 14: Causes of Climate Change
- What did you do in lab today? Today, we watched a video about climate change. Scientists use ice cores to measure the greenhouse gas concentration throughout history. The CO2 ppm started rising faster during the Industrial Revolution.
- What was the big question? Causes of Climate Change
- What did you learn in Thursday’s discussion? I learned that the leading factor of sea level rise is due to the warming of the oceans. I knew that when something is heated, it expands, but I never put two and two together that the warming of the sea levels would rise the sea levels tremendously.
- Textbook:
- What did you learn? I've always been curious about how global warming has fueled larger wildfires. I learned that years of drought are causing wood to die, which makes it more flammable.
- What was most helpful? I liked the video Science of Climate Change we watched in class. I thought it was informational because it gave us a little more input about their reasoning for the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere
- What do you need more information on? What are scientists predicting will happen if the ocean temperatures rise to a point to completely disrupts ocean currents?
5. What questions, concerns, and/or comments do you have? N/A
