Week 6: Geologic Time

  1. What did you do in the lab today? Today in lab, we started talking about how the Universe came to be and how Earth has evolved. We discovered how long ago life came to be on Earth, and events that have happened that removed all living things.

  2. What was the big question? Why is Earth not covered in ice now if the positive feedback loop continues forever?
  3. What did you learn in Thursday’s discussion? We did not have a discussion (exam)
  4. Read the online textbook, chapter
  1. What did you learn? In a normal ice age, rock deposited by glaciers would be found by Earth's poles, but geologists found glacial rocks of similar ages around the world at the poles and the equator. This is known as Snowball Earth.
  2. What was most helpful? I liked how we went over concepts that most people were still confused about for the exam. I finally understand how the phases of the moon work.
  3. What do you need more information on? As of right now, nothing!

5. What questions, concerns, and/or comments do you have? N/A
