Week 7: Rocks and the Rock Cycle

What did you do in the lab today?

I was at SOW, so I was not in the lab

What was the big question? Rocks are classified into three types

What did you learn in Thursday's discussion? I learned that the geodes we see are cavities in a rock that can occur when a bubble of carbon dioxide and water vapor forms in flowing lava-as the molten rock cools and the gas dissolves, an empty space is left behind.

Textbook:

What did you learn? I learned that each type of rock (sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous) goes through an endless rock cycle and with the help of heat/pressure or wind/water.

What was most helpful? What was most helpful was when you split up the three different rocks and explicitly told us what needs to happen to each rock for it to change.

What do you need more information on? N/A

What questions, concerns, and/or comments do you have? N/A
